Looking to take your instant photography game a step higher? Try your hand at making emulsion lifts!
Thanks to the emergence and revivals of instant cameras and film in recent times, instant photography is currently enjoying a surge of popularity anew. There’s just something exciting and nostalgic about having an instant photo print in your hands. The format plus the soft, often muted colors bring to mind the good old days of photography, where the norm was having photos developed and printed on paper.
Of course, adventurous photographers have found new ways to make instant photographs stand out even more. Among them is making emulsion lifts, also known as image transfers or Polaroid lifts, which, as the name implies, basically consists of lifting instant prints from their original backings and transferring them on surfaces such as watercolor paper and wood.
